10/10/2023 0 Comments Baby zebra animal kingdom lodge diesEven with Pandora now keeping that park open later, it still regularly closes at 8 p.m., which is perfect timing for a relaxing night at Animal Kingdom Lodge, perhaps with a romantic dinner at Jiko or Sanaa, or an all-you-can-eat affair at Boma. Instead, do Animal Kingdom Lodge in the evening after your Animal Kingdom day. Walt Disney World transportation is too convoluted, and if you drive yourself, you risk being turned away at busier times (although that’s not as likely at Animal Kingdom Lodge as it is at the Epcot or Magic Kingdom area resorts). However, when it comes to visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge at Christmas, we do not recommend going on your Magic Kingdom day. For years, we’ve suggested doing the morning before attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party so you don’t waste a park day of your normal tickets. Of course, you can always incorporate AKL into our Free Self-Guided Walt Disney World Yuletide Resort Tour. If you’ve never visited AKL, this is the perfect time of year to remedy that, and doing a dinner at Sanaa, Jiko, Boma…or perhaps one of the lower profile restaurants getting menu updates is a great way to do that. While it doesn’t hit the same holiday high notes as Wilderness Lodge, it’s a very similar idea. Buckle up, because it’s going to be a wild ride!Īnimal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorite hotels at Walt Disney World year-round, and that’s taken up a notch during the Christmas season. We’ll take a look at the savanna woodland critter Christmas creations, egg-citing ostrich ornaments, and major menu updates to several restaurants at AKL. Get in touch at 1.’s time for another update from Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is the only resort at Walt Disney World with a major addition to its holiday offerings. While not all male zebra are actively involved in raising their young, Domino loves his unique role in fatherhood. Hartmann's mountain zebra really like to dust bathe and you can identify Domino in these pictures with JB and mom, Prima, by his dark coat from all the dust bathing he likes to do. While #FathersDay may be over, we’re still celebrating some of our wonderful animal dads Animal Kingdom. So let’s all give Phoenix a big warm Disney welcome! And be sure to be on the lookout for her during your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.Īnother awesome way to keep up with all of the Animals that call Disney home is to follow along on Instagram where photos are posted regularly. She is the 13th to be born at Disney as part of the breeding program. Phoenix has the proud distinction of being the fourth zebra born at Walt Disney World this year. Phoenix is the second Hartmann’s foal born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge this year! She was born as part of the Species Survival Plan Program which ensures responsible breeding and genetic diversity of thousands of animal species. Phoenix is the daughter of mom Peebles and according to Disney is very active and enjoying some bonding time with mom. The name Phoenix has a very special meaning, it was chosen by Disney’s animal care team as a symbol of strength and renewal. She recently made her first appearance on the resort’s Sunset Savanna. Here at MickeyBlog, we are a sucker for animal babies! That’s why we’re so excited to share the news that Phoenix a female Hartmann’s mountain zebra foal has joined the herd.
